SWSFE submitted new large-scale reforestation proposal aimed at the restoration of forest habitats damaged by nature hazards within Natura 2000 sites.
The new proposal is a direct result from the expert analysis of the need for restoration of priority forest habitats within Bulgarian Natura 2000 network developed under Action A.1 of LIFEFORHAB project. Proposed activities include the restoration through reforestation of a total of 500 ha damaged forest habitats within Natura 2000 SCIs, actions targeting at capacity building within the forestry sector and improvement of forestry legislation and normative documents. Project beneficiaries include the Executive Forestry Agency and Sofia Municipality.
Project concept note was approved in the end of 2018 and in the end of January 2019 SWSFE submitted full project proposal. The results from the full application process are expected in June 2019.
