The installation of greenhouse for seedling growing at Lokorsko forest nursery is now completed. Installed greenhouse features double plastic walls, dimensions of 12.5 x 81 m and will be used for germination of mainly coniferous seedlings in early spring, when the young plants are most vulnerable to frost damage.
Infrastructure works for the establishment of 2 seedling growing areas at the nursery are also near completion. Both growing areas have dimensions of 25 x 100 m and will be equipped with automated mobile irrigation booms to be supplied by the selected contractor – Björkemar Construction & Consulting BCC Aktiebolag (BCC AB) from Sweden.
By year end, we plan also to install a seedling shading system at one of the growing areas to ensure proper conditions for the growth of coniferous seedlings in hot summer months.
